Some children come to Ruby for confidence, friendships or managing change. Others come for academic support, whether that is catching up, keeping pace or being stretched further. Many need both. Over 10 years working with children and families, nationally and internationally, Ruby has learned to notice what sits beneath the surface.

Questions parents often ask.
What ages do you work with, and are sessions online or in person?
Ruby works with children and young people aged 7 to 18. Tuition is for ages 7 to 13 and includes 7+, 9+ and 11+ entrance exam preparation, while coaching is available across the full 7 to 18 range. Sessions can be in person across North London (including Barnet, Muswell Hill, Finchley, Highgate, Hampstead and Hampstead Garden Suburb), or online for families across the UK and internationally, including expat families abroad.
What is the difference between tuition and coaching?
Tuition builds academic knowledge and confidence with schoolwork. Coaching supports what sits underneath it: confidence, friendships, resilience, managing worries and handling change. Coaching is not therapy or clinical treatment, and it does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If Ruby believes a child would benefit from clinical support, she will always say so.
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. This work sits in the space in between. Not therapy, not clinical, but education-led support that pays attention to the whole child. You do not need a diagnosis, or any formal label, to be supported here.
What if my child is reluctant to engage?
Ruby has worked with a wide range of children, and building trust is the part she takes most seriously. Most children settle quickly. Some take a few sessions to feel comfortable, and that is completely fine. It teaches a child something valuable in itself: that relationships build with time, and that someone is willing to keep showing up.
How much does it cost?
Rates depend on the type of support your child needs, whether that is tuition, entrance exam preparation, coaching, or a bespoke plan combining them. Ruby will confirm current rates when you get in touch, so you know exactly what to expect before anything is booked. Send an enquiry and she will come back to you personally.
